Frozen BonBons
Beautiful desserts don’t always need to be complicated. This is a fun and easy (and a little messy) no-recipe, recipe for Frozen Bon Bons: Small scoops of ice cream in a sweet & salty crunchy coating. Pile them high in a dessert bowl, or pop them on sticks and hand them out to grateful friends and family.
I made mine with some homemade frozen custard, but you can use any ice cream, gelato, frozen yogurt, etc. that you like. Dairy or non-dairy. The coating is a mixture of vanilla granola and candied hazelnuts that I also already had from making the Paris Brest pastry. So you see where I’m going with this, right? Use what you have to make something new and irresistible. Scroll down for some flavor combination ideas.

Frozen BonBons No-Recipe Recipe:
Chop up your coating of choice, by hand or in a processor, until you have very small pieces but not crumbs. I needed about a cup of topping for 10 bon bons. Place the coating in a shallow dish. An empty pie place works well.
Line a freezer safe container with parchment or wax paper. One at a time, scoop heaping tablespoonfuls of ice cream and roll them in the coating, pressing the topping into the ball as you go. Place coated balls in the prepared container, cover, and put back in the freezer to firm up for about an hour before serving.
Tip: I use my cookie scoop for the scooping, it’s the perfect size.
