SuperBowl Cupcakes

Am I a big pro football fan? Welllllllll, not really, but I do like a party and I’m totally down 🏈 (see what I did there?) for all the #SuperBowlSnacks. My contribution to the day is this super cute batch of black cocoa cupcakes with cinnamon buttercream and lollipop footballs.

I followed the five star Cookies and Cream Cupcakes recipe on King Arthur Baking for the cake itself and just added a scant quarter tsp cinnamon to a simple vanilla buttercream. I really like the combination of cinnamon and chocolate, but if that’s not your thing, any flavor that goes well with chocolate will work just fine.

I really like that mix of green sprinkles, I think the variation of color really communicates football turf. The footballs are raspberry-flavored candy lollipops that I found on Amazon, I just cut down the stick to fit the cupcake.
